In the municipality of Tonalá, Jalisco, according to a diagnosis made by the municipality and carried out by the Institute of Information and Statistics and Geography of Jalisco (IIEG), in this report they reflect that a large percentage of the population did not finish Elementary school or never went to school. This leads to a large part of the population living in poverty and marginalized.
Also, the lack of education leads young people to take the easy way out, drugs, gangs and criminality that so affects the country of Mexico.
Obesity is something that affects the population of Mexico. The country is installed in the second place in the world in obesity, which consequently affects the most vulnerable, illiterate, poor and marginalized population.
These three factors influence the development of the population in the municipality of Tonalá. The lack of better integration leads to increased poverty and inequality.
With The Power of Fútbol (POF) program, children and youth will be tutored to get better grades in elementary, middle and high school. This seeks to remedy the high percentage of children and young people who drop out of school.
The POF program offers a free service to children and youth in the community after classes with teachers, tutors and coaches from the community where you learn to collaborate with coaches and team to solve sports and daily life problems. Our Coaches, tutors and collaborators are trained to help our children and youth, who through sports can learn to solve mathematical problems, collaborate and serve our community among others.
After the daily classes, a healthy snack is offered to all participating children and young people so that they learn what can be eaten before exercising. This will also be supported with nutrition classes for parents, who will learn to choose a better healthier food option to avoid the obesity that affects the marginalized community.
Learning good study habits, eating and learning to solve academic problems and daily life; we will have a better integration of our young people in the community and have a sustainable change for the new generations.
